10 Reasons To Support

Central Asia is a geographic region encompassing Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The Institute currently focuses its activities on the first three countries. The last two are intentionally omitted because liberty is illegal there and any sign of it is brutally suppressed.

The Institute aims to promote free-market oriented reforms across the three nations. The Institute wants to capitalize on the historic competition to claim the title ‘King of Central Asia’ that exists between the peoples of the region. Many a time this competition is of detrimental nature to liberty. Two years ago Kazakhstan banned right-hand cars. Within months, Tajikistan followed suite and Kyrgyzstan plans to implement the ban in 2012 - the same story for casinos, although, Kyrgyzstan did not and became the gambling heaven of Central Asia. The Institute wants to funnel the competitive energies of the countries into the liberty oriented stream- lowering tariffs, simplifying visa procedures and removing business barriers.

The overarching goal of the Central Asian Free-Market Institute is to educate the region’s population about the importance of liberalism for the economic and individual flourishing of the states.
